CRISSY JARVIS

“Strange, yet pleasant”

Young at heart, I've always had my head a little in the clouds. Luckily, my daydreaming and endless curiosity have brought me to a career in Photography and Design.

As a Designer I strive to create things that are full of wonder. I’m a curious person and want my designs to convey that I’ve conceptualized an idea from multiple angles, building up layers of elements to discover. My aim is for people to interact with my designs, find something that shows a perspective they’ve never considered, or simply experience a moment of fun and wonder.

Learning the skills to produce with many different mediums is very important in my process, helps to fuel my creativity, leads to making connections across many disciplines and broadens my thinking. Design school (with a strong interest in the arts) allowed me to become proficient in the Adobe Creative suite, book making and binding, ceramics, wood working, paper making, metal working, screen printing, painting, and collage.

As a Photographer, I relish the captured moment. A collector of old photos and slides, I love the feeling of being transported to another time through photos. I enjoy art directing photoshoots as well as capturing images in a more documentary style. There really are no limits today when it comes to creating powerful images through photography. In such a visual, picture-centric world, photos are being consumed at an exceptional rate, and I enjoy being a part of the process.

I'd love to continue working on creative projects of all sizes. I've had long term corporate clients that have spanned 8+ years, as well as one-off contracts for smaller businesses.

A huge fan of process design, and brainstorming to make things run more efficiently, I bring an almost obsessive mind to figuring through design problems. All of that time with my head in the clouds has proven useful in dreaming up design solutions as well as unique angles for capturing moments and memories with a camera.
